SanDisk and Yahoo team up on the Sansa Connect |
This announcement is very cool and has lots of implications. SanDisk and Yahoo are hooking up to provide a new WiFi based music player called the SanDisk Sansa Connect that will allow users to wireless download music from the Yahoo Music Unlimited To Go subscription service - from anywhere with a WiFi connection - no PC required. And that's not all folks - users will also be able to browse photos on Flickr, listen to LAUNCHcast internet radio, and also check out what your Yahoo messenger friends and other Sansa Connect users are listening too - very cool! This tight integration of slick WiFi music player with the Yahoo subscription service is well positioned to take on both the iPod/iTunes and the Zune/Zune Marketplace combinations. This is gonna be interesting - stay tuned! The Sansa Connect is available for $249.99.
