1. For $35 you barely get what you pay for. This is a good enough spontaneous use gadget, but most cell phones have comparable cameras in them. Get a "real" digital camera if you want to do anything serious.
Pros: Very small and light. Standard AAA battery so there's no need for a charger or special batteries. SD slot for extra storage (SD card replaces internal memory, not adding to it). Video (no audio) works well enough. Shows as USB drive on Win2K/XP without any drivers. Carry the USB cord and use it as a USB drive/SD card reader.
Cons: Very slow. You have to stay still for 3-5 seconds or the picture is blurry (Welcome to 1998?). The quality of the images is not worthy of paper printing but good enough for generic use. Could not get the PC camera function to work.
Caution: Camera uses cheaper SDRAM instead of Flash RAM, which loses its data when power is lost. If you remove the battery or it goes dead, all your pictures/data will be lost unless you were using an SD card! |
