Summary:
Sony has released hot new details on the upcoming PlayStation 3. The Playstation 3 will be available on Nov 17, 2006 in North America, and will be available on Nov 11, 2006 in Japan. It will come in two configurations: a 20GB hard drive version will be available for $499, and a 60GB hard drive version will be available for $599. The system is based on the Cell Processor, and will play CDs, DVDs, and will include a Blue-ray drive. It will support USB, Sony Memory Sticks, SD and CompactFlash, and will also include Ethernet capability, WiFi and Bluetooth. Up to seven wireless controllers can be connected to the system at once, and each controller will be able to automatically detect the movement of the players hand and translate it to character movement on the screen. The audio and video capabilities of the PlayStation 3 will provide an awesome gaming experience, with high definition video up to 1080p, and included Dolby digital surround sound.
