1. I bought the Philips HTS3544 this evening and I am returning it tomorrow morning. It only took me long enough to open the box before I realized this product would be useless to me. All speakers are hardwired with their cheap 20 gauge standard wire so you can not exchange it for a better wire, and they have special plug-ins so you can't simply take it apart and replace it. I have spend $200 in wiring my theater with 12 gauge wire so I wouldn't have to have wires spanning across my floor. If you just want to have a simple bookcase unit, go for it, it may be great, but for a custom installation, this mickey mouse arrangement just doesn't add up. Philips, why would you want to design such limitations into your product? Shame on you.

2. I love the system great sound for a great price. Although it doesnt have many inputs this costs 200 bucks folks....you pay for what you get for. I have a simple home theater setup. 32" LCD HDTV, cable box, and this product. Excellent 5.1 Dolby digital from DVDs and from HD programming. If your getting started with a home theater I would definitely buy this.

3. I just purchased this unti and installed it. I have a 42" LG LCD tv mounted above my fireplace. So far I am not impressed with the fact the wires for the center and fron two speakers is no where near long enough to reach the unit. I have it setup on a credenza in the middle of the room and it sounds ok - better then nothing but may opt to return it and buy a real system.
