1. Although this unit has a lot of nice features and good picture quality, it has a major problem. When recording OTA digital broadcasts with digital sound, it quite often fails to record the sound properly. The symptoms are background noises in the program are recorded but the dialog is absent or extremely faint. This can occur on one recording, and then if you stop and start again on the same program the sound might be ok. Obviously this makes the unit practically worthless, since you can never rely on any recording you make having useful sound. Panasonic support has been totally useless so far (after more than 20 days and many phone calls). They haven't said it is their problem, but they have said I am not the only one reporting this problem. |

2. I have the same problem on any HD station - not just recording, but watching live thru the player. If I change the channel and back again, the sound will return for a while. Between that an the "NO READ" with dvd-ram disks, I'm ready to pitch this thing out.

3. I'm having problems with scheduled recordings. Sometimes, particularly with DVD-RAM disks, The recording will not start with a NO READ display. The only way I can get the unit out of this is to unplug it. It's great when it works, which is not very often.

4. I opened this thing up yesterday, and this morning, I tried to watch a normal DVD in it and at random, it hung up and stopped playing. I ejected the disc. Since then, it won't play ANY disc. I get "No Read" errors.

5. I have the same problem, trying to record shows it is a hit and miss with them if it will record. Then on some it records I can't watch it. I have two of these units and one will read it while the other won't - very strange.
