Great phone
Tough but basic
good no nonsense
pretty good phone.
Just hope that your phone never quits working
Great phone

This phone has great reception and beats all three phones I had from ATT, 2 from virgin mobile, and a previous one from nextel. Yes, it is a bit bigger than other flip phones but this really makes it easier to dial. Good phone for those of you with large fingers. The phone is durable, reliable, and looks good. Highly recommended!

I bought this phone knowing it didn't have many extras. It is great for what it is. I've always gotten a great signal and sound quality, everyone says it sounds like a landline phone when I talk to them on it, and it's sturdy as can be. There was even a time when I fell at Oktoberfest and landed right on it, but it was no worse for it. My contract is up so I'm getting another phone with more toys on it (camera, mp3 player, etc.), but I can't say anything bad about this phone other than that the battery seems to wear down faster than other phones I have had. If you need a tough phone with a good signal and don't need any toys on it, this one is great!

I chose Nextel because most of the contractors I know use Nextel and the walkie talkie feature is wonderfull for quick communication. I chose the i530 phone because I needed a phone that would take being trashed around on a toolbelt all day, getting sawdust, MDF dust and other grit in and on it. I didn`t need "extras" like cameras, color screens, MP3s ect. Just a solid phone that would take abuse and keep working. The i530 seemed to be the best option without being too big and bulkie for non-jobsite use too. So far, after several months it holds up great. I bought a nylon case built for toolbelts to go with it and while a little bulkie it works well. The only complaint I have about the case is that it doesn`t hold the phone closed well and sometimes my phone flips open while I`m working.
The only complaint I have about the phone is the weak battery life. It frequently doens`t get me through a whole workday of moderate use, forcing me to buy a car charger to hook up to my jobsite radio. Overall I like the phone though and did buy one for my wife too. She works outside all day with horses and had similiar durability needs to mine.
pretty good phone.

I had this phone for about six months and I loved it . The only thing I did not like about it is that it was not a color phone. Other than that I loved the rings, I loved the settings and it was worth the buy. But then it started acting weird. It would turn itself on and off. It would cut off all of my conversations and more. One time I let my girlfriend use it and she dropped it on the concrete, and that was it. The phone was dead. Later I bought a motorola I860. Much better.

I had been very happy with my Motorola phone until the battery started losing its charge within a day, even when the phone was turned off. The friendly but incompetent customer support kept me on the phone for an average of 40 minutes for the repeated calls trying to figure out the problem. After the phone had finally been sent to their technical service center, they returned it to me that the phone was irreperable "due to customer abuse." I have done nothing to that phone that could have caused any damage (unless using it to make phone calls counts as "customer abuse"), but got the same comment, without explanation after I had sent the phone in for a second time for reevaluation. It seems that Motorola is just trying to get out of fixing or replacing the phone free of charge under warranty. You'll be fine with a Motorola phone as long as it works. After that, you're on your own.
