The Lexus RX400h establishes a new breed of car, the luxury hybrid SUV. Based on the RX330, the RX400h combines the standard 3.3 Liter V6 engine with three electric motors, achieving 268hp, and providing increased mileage of 27 MPG in the city, and 31 MPG on the highway.
The standard model comes with all wheel drive, leather upholstery, a DVD navigation system, a rear backup camera, and a six disc cd changer. MSRP is $44,600 - $46,060. Acceleration is 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds, providing a nice mix of power and fuel economy in this very special package.
The safety systems in the RX400h have been well thought out, providing standard front airbags, along with side, head and driver knee airbags. Antilock brakes, Traction control, and stability control are all standard.
