With a DVD-Writer (Double-layer) - DVD-RAM/±R/±RW optical drive, the HP nw9440 also features the Windows XP Professional with SP2 operating system, a Broadcom NetXtreme 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet IEEE 802.3ab PCI Express Integrated network interface, and an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG 54Mbps Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11a/b/g Integrated network interface.
The HP nw9440 also includes a Bluetooth Bluetooth 2.0 Integrated network interface, a Standard Size keyboard, and one 8-cell Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) 69 Wh Standard Battery.
