A great choice for smaller rooms or apartments, the 20-inch Akai LCT2016 LCD television provides vividly colorful images from standard and high-definition television programming as well as DVD movies. You can also use it as a computer monitor with its VGA 15-Pin D-sub input. This LCD TV has a 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating and 500:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) Component Video Input: You'll get great picture reproduction from compatible DVD players or cable/satellite set-top boxes using the three-jack component video (Y/Pb/Pr) output, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections.
