| 21. I have a 5100 touch pad/keyboard just quit working - warranty up 5 months ago. Have spoken to ACER and they are so rude. Their response is "all we care about is the first year - you should have renewed your warranty." They refuse to stand by their product. I told two different "customer service" reps that I Googled the issue and got 52,500 hits. I was told that they haven't heard of this problem and they don't care what Google says - that was my response from a supervisor. Call (800) 816-2237 - it's the tech support number. To them it's not a world-wide problem and they haven't recalled any computers. Too bad. |

| 22. My 5100 has the same problems.No KB,no usb,no touchpad.As far as I can tell it's a MB/Chipset failure.I belive the multi I/O has gone bad.I am out of ideeas.Has anyone managed to get a fix?Where should I start fixing the motherboard? |

| 23. I had the same problem as all of you. 5 weeks out of warrenty. Call the co. in texas to pay for one. They have plenty but are saveing them for ones still in warranty.Can you believe I could not even pay for one that they have in stock. |

| 24. Exactly the same problem ocurred to me: no keyboard, no mouse, o USB. My laptop is 16 month old and I still didnt have a solution in Internet. | 25. My 5100 failed 1 month after warranty... and I even sent it in 3 times before for repair! Talk about butting duct tape over the problem! Add me to the lawsuit! |

| 26. another owner of a Acer 5100 Brick formatted and (fdisk)my drive now unable to do a restore even thought i did the back-ups so just put regular xp on usb has no yellow by them but my usb's don't work i doubt all these are hardware I think it's some stupid software thing btw my laptop is only 1 year old. |

| 28. and yet annother one. im having the same issue. just did it over night. was working fine then boom next morning its dead. tried taking hard drive out and loading with a windows cd and a linux cd and still nothing works. if there happens to be a class action suit count me in. btw my laptop is 17 months old...... |

| 29. edit.. just added a pcmcia usb card and now im able to use a mouse and just need to get a keyboard so i can back everything up. |

30. same problem no usb, no keyborad, no touchpad. im going to try to use a pcmcia usb card to connect an external mouse and keyboard but that kinda defeats the purpose of a portable computer....
if theres a lawsuit count me in |
